One of the local surf instructors down in Iztapa Guatemala catching a nice barrel yesterday.  It was a fun day with way more to come.

Global Surf Trip

Last week I was able to get in the van with the owners of GlobalSurf Guatemala.  It was supposed to be a really big swell but while we were on the road down to Iztapa the engine of the van decided to completely shit the bed leaving us stranded on the side of the road.  Luckily we were able to get out and the guys were able to catch a few waves and I was able to snap a few photos.   I can’t wait to get out there again.

Old News.

I am not sure why these photos never got up on the internets, maybe I had a lot on my mind.  Maybe I was just being lazy?  Or maybe I was just drunk?  But here you go.  Some photos of skater I took on my trip out to Virginia and North Carolina earlier this year.  I had a blast hitting up a bunch of different skate parks and riding with a lot of good friends.  Can’t wait to do it again!!!

This dude was killing the Currituck bowl.

This is one of the kids from Relevant skate shop.  Dude was throwing down everywhere we were.

Yoga

Before taking off on my fun filled adventure from Rhode Island to Albuquerque New Mexico in late March.  I sat down with a good friend of mine Jessie Dwiggins and shot some amazing yoga poses. The photos will be used for her website which should be up and running soon.  Anyone in the Rhode Island area should check her out if you are looking for a good instructor.

Life is an adventure, grab it by the balls!!

“DRINK IT UP BOYS IT’S MY LAST NIGHT IN TOWN!!!!”  Late night drunken family photo session before taking off on the epic road trip.  Some of the coolest people on earth rocking some of the coolest hats.

Things quickly got silly when you have this many fun loving people trying to stay calm for a photo.

And the adventure continues.  Left New England yesterday morning and drove west for thirteen hours.  Spent the night in a shady little truck stop hotel drinking with a bunch of truckers from all over.  Awesome times so far.

Next leg, we are driving into St. Louis to hang out at the arch for a little bit then out to Tulsa Oklahoma.  More photos of the trip will be up after we hit OK.

Barns are awesome.

Last night we hit up this place out by Springfield Mass and rode some cool ramps in a barn.  It was a pretty bad ass little session and here are some shots.

Overview of the barn.

Super man.

Emerson the flying Guatemalan throwing whips over the box.

The man, the myth, the legend throwing a Sleeper top.

Grizz airs are making a comeback!

Nah, they’ve been here for years!!

Flatten that bike out.

BMX in Connecticut.

Went out to a few parks in Connecticut over the weekend.  It was nice to ride my bike again and I can’t wait to do it again.

Here are a few shots I took of Eric Hennessey and a Guatemalan named Emerson.

Hennessey throwing a clicked look back over the hip at Norwich.

Emerson airing out of probably the tightest quarter I have ever seen.

Hennessey with another lookback in the mini at the Plainfield park.

Panajachel Guatemala.

So this past saturday I drove out to Panajachel on Lake Atitlan to spend a night at a friends house on the lake.  There would have been more photos if I hadn’t drank entirely too much whiskey and hid my camera from myself to avoid breaking or loosing it.  But here is what I managed to capture while out there.  Not bad considering the hot mess that I was while shooting.

The volcanoes Atitlan and San Pedro With the sky lit up by stars.

Lucia and me with Panajachel behind us.

Me, Lucia, Amy, Chato, Julio and Diego.

Panajachel and the Atitlan volcano.

A little flash from Julio.

Two bad ass chicas.

Guatemalan Hardcore!!!!

This past friday was the record release party for Volver‘s new 7 inch Guatemala Esta Muerta.  Also playing were Siempre Adelante and Creo En Mi.  The show was pretty amazing and the crowd was beyond intense.  Here are a few shots I got while trying to avoid smacking people in the face with my camera.  I still have not assessed the damage done to it but I am hoping it was not too terrible.  Kinda scared to check it out though.  When looking at the photos I feel that it was worth putting some new dings into the gear.  What do you think?

Once again Amy and Lucia.

Nothing but love for the beard!

Yup, the inevitable lost shoe.

Diego has to be one of the calmest dudes I met down here until he starts to sing.  Pure intensity!!

Just after getting kicked in the back or pushed off the stage, not sure which one but still all smiles.

Jesus is gnarly on the drums.

Well I have seen a lot of things go down at shows…  Fighting, kicking, punching, biting, scratching, kneeing, elbowing, head butting, and so on and so on but this is the most intense nipple tweak I have ever seen at a show.  Good job Lucia!

That poor kid looks a little worried about what is going on.

Richi getting ready to jump up on stage.

Intense, Surprised, Silly.

Xela Guatemala Fashion Show

I will be the first to tell you that I am not a fashion photographer.  I didn’t know what to think when I was told that we have passes to go to a fashion show in Xela Guatemala but I knew I was taking my camera.   The show ended up being inside of the cities main theater and somehow we ended up in the orchestra pit for the show.  Made for some pretty cool images.

The lovely Lucia Macip and Amy Gridley in the orchestra pit in the theater.

I don’t care what you say, plaid sleeves and a bow tie are awesome!!!!!

I am not really sure what was going on with this girl outside of the theater but I will tell you one thing.  Cheetos and wedding dresses don’t go well together.

THE AFTER PARTY!

The after party was all you could drink so most of the photos are not that great.  But I had a great time taking them.  Enjoy.

Richi and Eny.

I think I may have said something inappropriate.  Or very appropriate?

By the end of the night people just wanted to pose in front of the camera.

The dude dead center really creeps me out.
